
During our first quarter in university we were asked to make an arcade game, Everdawn was the product of it. A co-op platformer of a horseback archer where one player plays the horse, moving and jumping, while the other is the archer aiming and shooting at enemies to clear the path.
I really strived to make this game feel polished. All of the small effects, the wiggles, shaking and trails as well as the stars are my work. The level was created using Tiled and imported through an XML serialization system I wrote. I also faked the physics of the arrows, back in those times where I didn’t know how to do physics.
